G-025 Service Faculty Emeritus Status
Emeritus status is an honorary title granted to those separated or are separating, by vote of the current active Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty (MSUAASF) union members.
Eligibility
To align with Board Policy, “Emeritus Status,” to be awarded emeritus status, the ASF member must have:
- Separated, or be separating, from the position with Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) for which emeritus status would be conferred
- Established a record of distinguished service to SMSU while employed in the position
- Served SMSU for a minimum of 10 years

Nominees receiving a simple majority of those voting will be recommended to SMSU administration for Service Faculty Emeritus status.
The names of those ASF members recommended for Service Faculty Emeritus status shall be sent to the President. Conferring of Service Faculty Emeritus status shall be done by the President or the President’s designee.
Privileges
Recipient privileges at SMSU shall include a privilege card that can be used for ease of access to the McFarland Library, free admission to university-sponsored events, and continued access to SMSU email account.
