Provides a broad overview of the major sub-disciplines of Anthropology which include physical anthropology, archaeology, and cultural anthropology. The course will progress from the historical development of human evolution and adaptation to methods of documenting prehistoric cultural relations to exploring the similarities and differences of contemporary societies.

ANTH 116 Cultural Anthropology Credits: 3
This course studies the scope of human diversity across cultures ranging from hunting-gathering bands to industrial states. The course balances an introduction to theoretical concepts with practical information about peoples and cultures.
