The Provost is responsible for educational leadership within the University and the overall administration of academic and student life. Included in these responsibilities are: program development; curricular planning; faculty and staff development and evaluation; system wide planning and development; implementation of personnel policy; affirmative action and collective bargaining agreements; and planning and monitoring the budget process for academic and student affairs programs. If you have suggestions or concerns about the academic programs of the University, you may wish to make an appointment to discuss them with the Provost.

Dean of the College of Arts, Letters, and Sciences

The Dean of the College of Arts, Letters and Sciences oversees the operation of the following academic departments: Art, Music, Speech Communication, Theater; English; Foreign Language, Humanities, Philosophy; Mathematics, Computer Science; Science; Social Science; Honors Program and Library. Dean of the College of Business, Education, and Professional Studies

The Dean of the College of Business, Education, and Professional Studies oversees the operation of the following academic departments: Business and Public Affairs, and Education. The Dean of BEPS is also responsible for the oversight of SMSU’s graduate and extended learning programs. Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students

This position oversees the operation of the following areas: Residence Life/Housing, Student Center, Student Government, Cultural Diversity, International Student Services, Non-Traditional Students, Career Services, Counseling & Testing, Health Services, Disability Resources, Student Judicial Affairs, and the Child Care Center. Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success

The Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success is responsible for the administration of the following: Admission Office, Registration and Advising, Deeann Griebel Student Success Center, Office of International Student Services and Financial Aid.
