Judicial Hearing Recording Procedure
- Informal Hearings will be recorded if a possible sanction could be either suspension from the University of 10 days or more or expulsion. Hearings are recorded for further appeal purposes.
- The recordings are, and remain, the property of Southwest Minnesota State University. The Associate Vice President for Student Affairs provides access to them for use in appeal or court proceedings.
- These recordings are maintained until the end of any appeals process, at which time they will be destroyed.
- These recordings may be released by the Associate Vice President for use in civil or criminal proceedings upon presentation of the appropriate court order or subpoena. A Hearing Committee may review the recording of a hearing. No other release of these tapes is permitted except as required by law.
